The joy of buying a new phone is unmatched; the novelty of it all, the freshness, the excitement of what the new phone has in store; such a feeling is unrivaled.

However, what isn’t fun is the transfer of your data and other information to the new device. Transferring information from one phone to another can sometimes be stressful, especially when it comes to apps.

So, how can you transfer your apps from one Android device to another? Here is how.

Synch with Google Account

Google has made it very easy to back up the content of your phone, including photos, texts, and apps by using your Google account.

Simply go to your new device and download the Google One app for free. However, you need to subscribe to be able to use the app.

Once subscribed, the app will load, and you will see several options on the home screen, including Backup.

Clicking on it will open you to the items that will be backed up, including your apps.

Now, if you wish to save your media in its current state, go to ‘Manage Backup’ and then ‘Back up Now.’

Now, to restore apps, you will follow the Android setup process. Then, when you get to a restore option, you will get a prompt to connect your old device with a USB cable or restore from an automatic backup. You will then choose your old device as the restore point.

Check the Google Play Store

Alternatively, once you have signed in with your Google account to the new device, you can simply open the Google Play Store, tap on your profile on the top right. Then select Manage Apps & Device.

Then go to the Manage tab and tap on Installed. This will open two options: Installed and Not Installed.

Select Not Installed, and you will get a list of apps you have signed into with the old device, which you can then download again. Select the apps you wish to install and then click Install.

And there is how you quickly transfer your apps to your new device.
