Have you ever wanted to delete multiple files on your PC but did not know how? or have you ever wanted to select multiple files to copy at once?

Well, worry not, we are here to teach you about several shortcuts that you can use on your PC to get things done quickly and efficiently. In this article, we detail how you can select multiple files at once.

First, know that you can use Ctrl+A if you want to select all files in a given folder.

Using Shift Key

1.       Select the first file on a given folder.

2.      Then, go to the last file of the series you want to select. Then press the Shift key and then click to select the last file.

3.      When you do this, all files in the series will be selected.

Using Control Key

The other step of the process is using the control key, but not in the way you expect:

1.       First, click on one of the files or folders that you want to select.

2.      Then hold down the Ctrl key.

3.      Then start clicking on the other files or folders you want to select as you hold down the control key. You will hold the control key down until you have selected all the files you want.

This method is great for selecting files which are not located next to each other.

Using a Mouse

1.       Place the mouse on the file you want to select.

2.      Then, hold it down and begin to drag the mouse across the files.

3.      Continue holding down the mouse until you have selected all the files you want.

4.      Release the mouse and proceed with your next action.
