How to Reward your Employees This Festive Season

The Christmas period often signifies the end of a long 12 months of hard work and for most companies, this is the perfect time to take a well-deserved break.

However, for many business owners, this is also often the period where many rake their heads on how to incentivize and reward their employees.

Below, we look at some ways you can reward your employees over the festivities.

Provide flexible working hours

Many people will often wish to spend more time with their families over the Christmas period. While many companies will give their employees a short break, you can go a step further.

Over the course of the month of December, you can allow your employees a little leeway. You could have them leave work early, or arrive a little late than usual. Or, if they work for longer hours, you could allow the freedom to then decide when to take a day off.

The irregular working hours could help them be more productive while also having them enjoy the festive season.

Bonuses and rewards

The festive season is a time to celebrate. Unfortunately, it is also a time of the year when prices of precious commodities are hiked due to increased demand.

To reward your employees for the year, you could help make things easier for them by providing perks and bonuses for them. Since there could be an increased workload, you can increase the rewards for work done to enable them to afford the luxuries of the festivities.

Take some time out frequently

Obviously, as a business, you cannot have your employees take out the whole month of December doing nothing but celebrating. If you cannot afford to have your employees slack off once in a while, perhaps you could have some days in December where you do fun activities.

So, you could have days where people have dress-ups, play games, or do general social activities. These activities not only help motivate your employees and help them release some steam, but they also improve company culture.

Whatever you decide to go with, remember to do everything possible to spread some Christmas cheer to your employees. They deserve it, and so do you.
