How to Fix Wi-Fi Connection Issues on Windows 10

Many Windows 10 users have experienced Wi-Fi connection issues, which happen for various reasons.

The problem could be that the Wi-Fi driver software isn’t updated, or perhaps the driver isn’t compatible with the Windows 10 version you are running or perhaps a power issue. (All this is assuming you have eliminated your network as the issue).

So, how do you fix the W-Fi if your drivers are up to date but it still has issues?

Troubleshooting

Let us begin:

  1. First, make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on. Then check if the Wi-Fi brings a list of networks. Select the network by clicking Connect.
  2. Once Connected, Disconnect and then Connect once again.
  3. If this doesn’t fix the issue, then go to the Windows Start button > Settings> Network & Internet > Status.
  4. Then, under Change your Network settings, select Network Troubleshooter.
  5. Follow the steps and this should fix the issue.
  6. Also, remember to restart your modem and wireless router. This helps to create a new connection to your internet service provider(ISP).

Set Your Network to Private

Sometimes, you might have issues with your network because it is public. To change thus:

  1. Click on the Network & Internet icon (Bottom right symbol of three arcs when connected).
  2. Then, click on the network you are connected to. Then click Properties.
  3. Find the Network Then change the connection to Private if it is public. Ensure that you do this only to a Wi-Fi connection that you trust.
  4. Then, check how the internet performs afterward.

If none of this seems to solve the problem, then add one final step to each other of the above processes. After completing the processes above, restart your computer, too, then see if the issue still persists.

There are more ways to check and fix Wi-Fi issues on Windows 10 here. If nothing works, then turn to Microsoft customer support or seek an It specialist.
