Outlook is one of the many email options that we have and thus, you might be wondering how you would clear your inbox in the event that you get too many mails.

Well, there are several different methods that you can use to mass delete emails in Outlook and choosing the method that you want all depends on the emails you wish to delete and their location.

You could either delete entire folders, or manually select emails and delete them. Below are two methods you can use to delete mails.

Deleting Multiple Emails at Once

The option to delete multiple emails at once is probably the best option when you want to save some time. This option is great for deleting consecutive emails and here is how to do it (On your PC that is):

  1. Select the first email you want to delete.
  2. Then, hold down the shift key on the keyboard.
  3. Then select the last email and this action will auto select all emails in between the two selected emails.
  4. Right-click on any of the selected emails and then press delete.
  5. This will delete all the emails selected.

Deleting Non-Consecutive Emails

However, if the emails are not consecutive, you will need a few extra steps to complete the process:

  1. Click on the first email.
  2. Then hold down the Ctrl key on Windows or Command key on Mac on the keyboard.
  3. Then select the next email that you want to delete.
  4. After that, then select on each email that you want to delete, all as you hold down the Ctrl or Command
  5. Once you have all emails selected, right-click and select delete to delete all of them.

Additionally, you can also delete emails from a folder and there are two ways that you can do that – either by emptying the folder or deleting the entire folder. Both processes are very simple and need a few clicks. Here is a guide on how to do that.
