Funding is the artery of the tech world and considering how women still are marginalized in tech, they are often in need of funding a lot more.
Zinc Venture Capital (Zinc VC) is here to change that. Through their Zinc Venture Builder, the organization has a mission to change ‘people’s financial resilience and empower them to turn uncertainty into opportunity.’
Zinc is looking for 70 diverse and talented individuals passionate about building products and services which would help improve people lives in any of the following ways:
- Increase income levels
- Build wealth
- Acquire assets
- Become financially secure
- Become financially educated
So, if you are a woman running a product or service that does the above, then you are the kind of person Zinc is looking for.
How the Funding Works
Once you join the 70 cohorts of Zinc, you will receive a stipend of 13,200 Pounds for the first six months of your time. This money is to support you in your living expenses as you build your mission-driven business.
The Rose Acton Award
However, if you are a recipient of the Rose Acton Award, which is rewarded to one exceptionally ambitious technical woman Founder, you will get an additional 13,200 Pounds after the first six months so that you have financial support for the whole 12 months on Venture Builder.
Rose Acton Award was launched in 2021 in memory of Zinc’s former employee Rose, who passed away in December 2020 at 28. Rose cared deeply about financial inclusion and empowerment of women trough technology.
Aside from providing support to 70 world-class cohorts, Zinc also provides investments of up to 250,000 pounds, provides its cohorts with an extensive and active network of experts, mentors, coaches and investors, access to the Zinc R & D team and free working space in Central London where you can collaborate, learn and build.
How to apply
Applications to become a Zinc Venture Builder and qualify for the Rose Acton Award ends on Thursday March 9 so, apply here before running out of time.
All the best!
