Why is Your Windows 11 Rebooting and How do you Fix it?

It can be frustrating to work on a computer which keeps randomly restarting for no apparent reason. And Windows 11, being new as it is, has some common issues that come with a new software update.

Why is this happening?

Well there are several reasons as to why this could be happening. First is that this could be a bug of the new update. So, if the issue started following an update, consider undoing the updates and see if that will solve the issue.

However, the PC might be restarting due to other factors.

Automatic Restart to avoid damage

Your Windows OS might restart itself to avoid a system failure due to several factors. So, turn off the Automatic Restart as shown here.

However, the OS could be restarting due to high GPU and CPU temperatures, which happens if you put the PC under tasks it isn’t equipped to handle. The PC will shut itself down to take load off the processor. It this event, turn the laptop off, unplug it and let it cool for some few minutes. Alternatively, remove any intensive software installed on the PC.

Another reason could be malware. Did you click on any suspicious websites or links? Malware are hard to detect and will often replicate within the device, malfunctioning how your OS operates, leading to frequent shut downs which could be ways the malware uses to corrupt files. In this case, find a proper security software and scan the whole computer for any suspicious software then delete them.

Corrupted Hard Disk

A corrupted hard disk could also be the reason that the OS keeps rebooting. To check for any potential faults on the HD, use the CHKDSK scan for this this. This software scans the hard drive and repairs any bugs on the system.

Try the above and these other actions and see if you will get your Windows PC to stop rebooting.
