Thrilling New Phones to Look Forward to in 2022

The turn of the year will often be a time for new goals for many of us, and companies are often not to be left behind. This is especially true for tech companies, with the cutthroat industry going any company that does not dream big in the wayside like a useless toy.

Thus, in that spirit, the year 2022 as with any other year in this era, is a year to look forward to new tech products and below, we look at some of the phones to drool over in 2022.

Samsung – Z Fold 4 and S 22

Beginning with foldable, the ‘notebook’ phones have had a rough introduction to the market. It is obvious that they may find their niche, but at the moment, most foldable are still experimental, either in design or UX and screens.

However, Samsung, one of the leaders to foldable, will be looking to hit the top spot with the Z Fold 4, which wouldn’t land until perhaps August or September 2022. The company promises more dust and water-resistant design, a bigger battery and better screen and an improved under-display camera.

Meanwhile, the Samsung S 22 is rumoured to be launched on February 8. The S 21 successor has big shoes to fill, considering that the S 21 was among the best phones of the past year. While the S 22 is rumoured to have many similar screens and designs to the S 21, it will most probably feature the next-generation chipsets, whether Snapdragon or Exynos.

iPhone 14

The iPhone 13 range – 13 Mini, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, all earned positive reviews from tech enthusiasts, from their curved designs, very capable camera with improved AI, fast A1 Bionic chipset and one of the best phone batteries in the market.

In that regard, the iPhone 14 range has big shoes to fill, with rumours abound that the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max could feature totally new designs, upgraded camera sensors and a selfie camera punch, rather than a notch, on the screen.

However, the launch will likely be around September so the wait is long!

OnePlus 10 Pro

OnePlus has risen to prominence since its establishment in 2013 and is now one of the most reputable and reliable phone makers worldwide.

The OnePlus 9 Pro released in 2021 was OnePlus’s flagship and was a phone primarily focused on the camera, seeing as the company even collaborated with camera manufacturer, Hasselblad. However, the camera aside, the phone did not truly stand out when it came to performances in other benchmarks.

The 10 Pro then, promises to offer an improved Hasselblad camera app, improved 120Hz display and the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, all of which hopefully will give improved all-round performances.

Other honourable mentions include Google Pixel 7, which has a lot of work to pip Google Pixel 6 as the best value-for-money phone, Sony Xperia 1 IV and the Huawei P50 range. Let’s hope the phones deliver better than their predecessors.
