Signs that it’s Time to Move on from that Job

There is nothing quite like starting a new job. The joy of finally finding something to sustain you and keep you occupied and probably help you grow, is unmatched.

But, sometimes, it is often not that joyful anymore working on a certain job. Sometimes in life, you need to let that job go for your mental, emotional and physical well-being. But how do you tell that it’s time to let go?

You are underusing your skills

Perhaps you got that job at a time when you were desperate but with time, find that it doesn’t make full use of your skills.

Staying in such a job is often comfortable, but it is limiting to your potential. So, when your job greatly underutilizes your skillset, that’s a sign that you could be better off elsewhere.

Unhealthy work environment

Your boss is constantly putting you down, there is unhealthy competition among you and your co-workers and conflicts aren’t properly resolved, leading to resentment and even hatred between you and co-workers.

If you find yourself in a toxic work environment, then this could be a sign that you are in the wrong environment and need to change it.

Doubts about the company future

The talks about the company underperforming refuse to go away. Its been years and the company’s financial records still aren’t improving. If anything, they are getting worse.

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you work for a company that begins to face unending financial losses each year, then that is a sign you should call it quits. While all companies have cycles of low and high, if the company’s finances are on the downward trend and show no signs of improvement, this could be a sign for you to leave.

More work, less social time

We all work overtime from time to time. However, if you find that your work is now completely taking over your life, leaving you with little to no free time, then that’s a sign that you should quit that job.

We all need jobs to survive but there are many legitimate reasons for you to leave a job. So, always re-evaluate yourself and your work from time to time for the best outcome for yourself.
