OnePlus 11: A Return to Form for OnePlus?

Summary

  • OnePlus bounce back from OnePlus 10 T disappointment
  • OnePlus 11 improves on a lot from OnePlus 10 T
  • The phone comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
  • Has two colors – Titan Black and Eternal Green

OnePlus broke into the scene with much fanfare and enthusiasm. Known then as the flagship killer, the earlier OnePlus phones packed great features into affordable mid-range-priced yet flagship-specked devices. However, the company has been on a downward trend, which culminated in last year’s OnePlus 10 T winning Bust of the Year in renowned tech channel, MKBHD.

However, OnePlus stated that that award would launch them forward… and enter the OnePlus 11. Launched on February 7, the OnePlus 11 brings back beloved features of OnePlus.

Design

OnePlus 11 doesn’t have a major design overhaul from the OnePlus 10 T, but it does look much more premium with its brilliant finish and rounded camera bump with metallic bumps that fade straight down the edges.

The phone comes in two colors, Titan Black and Eternal Green. The black comes in a Matte Frosted Glass back while the Eternal Green comes in a glossy back glass.

Cameras

The new OnePlus 11 camera specs read as less impressive, especially considering that the new S 23 Ultra comes with a whopping 200 MP main camera:

  • 50 MP primary sensor
  • 48 MP ultrawide (up to 115o wide view)
  • 32 MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom
  • 16 MP front camera.

However, anyone familiar with OnePlus will know that the company has been known to optimize its Oxygen OS to take some impressive photos which belie its low camera spec sheets. With Oxygen OS 13, Android 13, you can expect to take great photos with the OnePlus 11.

Furthermore, the OnePlus 11 comes with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 so you know that image processing will be no issues for the impressive chip. Indeed, with the chip optimized for the OnePlus, watch out for the phone to compete as one of the most powerful flagships in the market.

Storage

The OnePlus 11 comes with 8 and 16 GB RAM, and 128 GB and 256 GB storage.

In other good news, OnePlus have brought back the alert slider, which they had removed from the OnePlus 10 T for some reason.

All in all, with an expected price of $700, there is little doubt that early indications are positive that the OnePlus 11 will be a much better value for money than its predecessor.
