Apple announced its latest iOS 16 early in June (Set for wide release later in 2022) to much fanfare and adoration. And it was for good reason. The iOS 16 featured major updates never seen before on the iPhone in a very long time. one of the major improvements was in its iMessage services

Let’s look at how iMessage texting across the iOS 16 will be so different and so much better than anything we have seen before.

Unsend messages

We all sometimes send messages that we have no intention sending or send messages to the wrong person.

Well, the iOS 16 lets you get off the hook with its new ‘recall message feature’. For up to 15 minutes after sending, you can delete the message sent. As long as the recipient hasn’t seen it, the message is safe. And if you ever change your mind again, and wish to resend the message, you can still do so. The deleted message will be stored in your memory as a draft for up to 30 days.

This feature has been on WhatsApp for a while now but this is the first time it is applying to SMS services. Speaking of unsending messages –

Editing messages after sending

Sometimes the problem might not be much a wrong message but a wrong wording, typo or emission. In this case, the new iOS messaging service lets you edit your message after it has been sent. However, once again, you only have 15 minutes to do it before your error is permanent.

Mark as Unread

Did you read a message but have been held up and are in no position to respond immediately? Do you not want the other party to feel like you are ignoring them?

Well, a new feature in the iMessaging service lets you unread an already read message, ensuring that you do not make it seem like you ignored the other party. This option comes in handy when you are in a situation where you can’t respond immediately and don’t want to make it seem like you ignored the sender.

You can also unread entire message threats and respond later on.

With the above features, get ready to be blown away by the new iMessage experience!
